BLOGMAS DAY 2: Making our Christmas List

Christmas wishlist

I wanted to share my daughter’s wishlist this year and how I’m shopping for it. Her birthday is right next to Christmas, so I’m planning for both at the same time. I try to get her things she’s excited about and also things she needs. I feel like doing it this way gives the holidays a good balance.

I found a lot of her gifts on Facebook Marketplace, at antique malls, and Goodwill. I’m almost completely done shopping. This is something I enjoy so much, and I’m genuinely so excited to show her the goodies I found for her.

Something she wants

Her want from Santa this year is a bike. My mom actually got her a bike last year that she barely used, so I’m just going to regift that one from “Santa.” I’ll probably buy a couple of cute accessories for it so it still feels fun and new.

Something she needs

When I asked my daughter what she needed from Santa, she originally said cough syrup lol. She’s four, so I helped guide her a little. She loves using my waterpik and flossing her teeth, so I thought a kids electric toothbrush and a small waterpik set would be perfect for her, and she agreed.

Something to wear

Last week I went to a vintage mall called Call It New / Call It Antique in Mesa, AZ. I found so many good gifts there, but the best find was a gorgeous vintage red Christmas dress and a some cute black flats. I think it’s the perfect “something to wear” gift.

Something to Read

Ari is finishing her Are You Ready for Kindergarten? Kumon book, so for her “something to read,” I’m getting her the next level along with a couple of early reader books. She’s progressed so much in her reading, I honestly can’t believe how quickly she picks things up.

Her List From Mom

Aria has a lot of family who love to shop for her so I like to focus on a few thoughtful things. She told me she likes anything I pick out so my goal is to get her exactly that. I want to choose things that feel like her.

Legos and Little Projects

Ever since our trip to London she has been obsessed with Legos. Costco has some really good sets and at a great price. She also loves Lush bath bombs so I plan on getting her a bunch. I might even make a few homemade bath potions.

Her Earring Era

I pierced Aria’s ears a couple weeks ago so earrings are high on my list. I want to find a pair that really feels like her. I just haven’t found the right ones yet.

The Perfect Dress

I am still searching for the perfect dress for her. I found a couple thrifting but they don't scream princess dress.

My Favorite Find

If you have ever watched a reborn unboxing you know how they wrap every little accessory and then the doll at the end. I found a realistic baby doll at Goodwill for $4.99 and I am so excited to recreate that for her. I am going to clean the doll up and wrap all the tiny accessories one by one. I'm sooo excited for this one.

I like to keep Santa gifts simple. I save the nicer gifts to give from myself so she doesn’t wonder why some kids get more from Santa than others. She’s grateful for anything and I feel so lucky with her.
